高慧芬老師已經從事藝術教育工作30年以上，從中國文化大學拿到藝術學士(Bachelor of Art, Chinese Culture University, Taiwan)之後，她赴美國進修，拿到雪城大學藝術碩士(Master of Fine Art, Syracuse University)，在這些過程之中，她就一直以藝術教育為她的工作及使命。她先後在台灣高雄，美國雪城及加拿大密希沙加開展藝術教育的課程，這麼多年來已經造就許多年輕的學生在藝術創意及技巧上打下深厚的基礎。

高慧芬老師深信藝術創意應該從年幼就開始開發，人類的創造潛能如果能夠越早開發就能夠越早應用在生活及學習上面，並且越多應用，會越有成熟的表現。這將會有益於所有的學習領域上面，不只是藝術美學，因為創意的表現過程乃是將抽象的想法透過藝術元素的呈現，這個過程所使用到的表現媒介及呈現方式就是人類創造表現的過程，這種能力的培養將會有益於日後的學習，不論學生是從事人文，科技，理工或任何領域，都將會需要這方面的表現能力來幫助他們在各領域中脫穎而出。

除了教學之外，高老師更是不停的在藝術創作上努力，這個網站也是主要將高老師的創作成果發表，高老師從事油畫，壓克力畫及各樣複合式媒材的創作，高老師特別喜愛透過自然界所給的啟發來創作，畫作的主題也有許多的多樣性，高老師將會持續創作，並繼續發表在這裡。

Aster Kao entered the world of fine arts and the visual art education industry over three decades ago, beginning with her Bachelor of Arts degree from the Chinese Culture University in Taiwan and her Master of Fine Arts degree from Syracuse University in the United States. Throughout the process of receiving her own education in this field, she became strongly passionate about incorporating fine arts instruction into her professional endeavours. She has since developed various arts curricula and studios in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Syracuse, United States, and Mississauga, Canada. Three decades later, Aster can boast of having inspired countless students to not only explore their creative spirits but also build a strong technical foundation in visual art.

Based on her wealth of experience, Aster Kao believes that artistic expression should be developed starting from a young age. Each person’s creative potential, if cultivated early on, can be utilized to enhance each aspect of life, from academic pursuits to everyday necessities. With enough nurturing, artistic expression can yield wonderful benefits far beyond the field of visual arts because this particular form of expression, which processes often abstract notions through wide-ranging media and presentation formats, encourages a creative thought process that can result in outstanding performance in any number of seemingly unrelated fields.    

In concert with teaching her students about the importance of artistic expression, Aster also continues to work on and explore her own creative potential. This website’s main purpose is to showcase Aster’s oil and acrylic pieces, as well as the artwork she has created using various other and combined media. She finds particular joy in artfully interpreting the beauty that nature has to offer and in applying the discoveries she makes through creating those pieces in her other work. Aster strives to continue to inspire others, particularly her students, to find the same fulfillment that she has achieved through creative artistic expression.
